Richard - Many thanks for the incredible workshop that you led yesterday at "Don't Tell Mama" in NYC. Being a novice and just beginning my exploration into the world of Cabaret, I was initially hesitant to attend not knowing what to expect. You presented the workshop in a non-threatening, warm, inviting and compassionate manner. The way that you are able to relate your personal experiences to the topics being discussed is both engaging and inspiring. I was amazed at how much information I obtained in just three very short hours. I definitely plan on attending future workshops and would highly recommend this workshop to people of all levels of experience. Thank you for your advice and humor. But most importantly, thank you for making me feel welcome. All the best to you. Patrick

Richard IS Carol. I saw the show several years ago. It was one of the best and most entertaining shows that I have ever seen. Looking forward to seeing it again soon.

Richard, I haven't seen a recent show but I can say I saw the early performces of Carol Channing we would would do your imitation in the early 80's in the Passion Play dressing room in Strasburg, VA. You may have a hard time remembering me b/c when the Passion Play stopped the year after Ms Balfour died, I would have been about 14 - I was the main stage hand a.k.a. Jimmy. It's good to see that you were able to continue in acting and especailly do something that you love to do in it. Your had a dead on Carol Canning impression when you did it back then even in the musty old wigs and fake beards we would wear with the scenes in the Passion Play. I was doing searches for other actors names I could remember and one of my searches linked to your website

In March I was able to attend Richard's Workshop and would like to say that, if you have an opportunity to participate in one of these workshops, you will undoubtedly come away from the experience armed with a great deal of information - You may even gain some new perspective - about how you view your career - and how prepared you are for the that moment when an opportunity might arise that would mean meeting a goal you have set for yourself - I found Richard to be open, honest and always willing to share his knowledge and experience in any way that might be helpful. Hope some of you are able to take advantage of this opportunity. All the Best, Jeanne MacDonald

Hi all, Just wanted to share that I also attended Richard Skipper's workshop, "How to Make a Living on the Road" this past Saturday and it was definitely a worthwhile investment. If you're serious about making a living on the road, Richard's the go-to guy for this. He has over ten years experience and knowledge about the ins and outs on how to go about accomplishing this with lots of tips and concrete information via various sources that he's collected over the years. Richard's very generous with sharing this information with his fellow artists. Definitely a must if you're serious about making a living as full time paid artist on the road. His next one's on April 22nd. Go! Richard Malavet

Hi Richard! Your workshop last Saturday about taking your show on the road was wonderful. I was really impressed with your business savvy. You were able to give every person attending the workshop ideas about how to create opportunities for performing his or her individual show. The three hours just flew by because every minute was filled with interesting and valuable information. The workshop has value for every performer and should not be limited to those who would like to go on the road. I've already been recommending it to all my friends. Thank you! Jenny Lynn Stewart

Re: Richard Skipper on “How To Make a Living on The Road”. I was there Saturday for Richard's seminar and Richard was/is absolutely incredible! Cabaret performers, you need this!! You have another chance. Richard is going to do another seminar. Get this date down in your diaries -- April 22nd at DON'T TELL MAMA. You don't have a diary? Buy one just for this. Went to Richard's seminar today, which was well-attended. It was extremely enlightening, in a relaxed atmosphere. I feel Richard shared all the ingredients of the recipe truthfully & held nothing back. He invited questions & answered them all fully. Highly recommended. Go, you'll be glad you did. Milla

You were superb on Tuesday-- everyone loved it-- it's a wonderful idea for a show and the authenticity rang! That's one of the things (there are others- like a terrific voice and musicality etc etc) that you have that so many performers in Cabaret lack.

My mother knew Carol Channing back in the late 40ies when Ms Channing would go and hear my mom sing in Chicago. When I first saw Richard perform, I was totally captivated. I remember thinking, "Oh, after the show I'll have to go ask her if she remembers my mother." THAT'S how real Richard's performance is -- for a moment, I actually forgot I wasn't watching the actual Carol Channing. Pretty spectacular, Ricahrd. Thank you.

An Open Message To All Booking Agents: ( I addressed this to a particular theatre but this message can apply to all agents.)My name is Leslie Orofino. I am an actress/singer (Leslieorofino.com) nd I would like to recommend on of my dear friends, Richard Skipper as Dolly for your upcoming production. He is Carol Channing's FAVORITE tribute artist. I just recommended him for a benefit for the Westport Women's Club in the fall and they LOVED him. I have seen Richard on numerous occasions and there is simply noone like him. His audience interaction is fantastic, super voice and looks. I look forward to bringing all my friends to Hello Dolly at your theatre.

Richard! Thank you for the benefit performance you did at San Jose Center for Spiritual Living! What an amazing evening - people are still talking about it. We are very remiss in getting this note to you, but we can't thank you enough for a delightful evening. Your energy is remarkable and, of course - as the reviewers say - you embody Carol. Your whole show is such a gift and so well done - from the costumes to your magnificent voice ... not to mention your arrangements, your accompanist ... all rolled into one well organized event. It was effortless for us, and quite a blessing. We can't thank you enough! Please let us know when you're performing back in the Bay Area - we hope you left part of your heart here so you have reason to return!
