Melissa O'Connell Name: Leslie Orofino Homepage: http://leslieorofino.com City: Westport, Ct.06880 Sent: 05/26 2003 07:12 AM Dearest Richard, I have never performed with a kinder more giving person. I so enjoyed being one of your guests at the Triad. When I saw you this past Monday at the Duplex,I was completely enchanted. Your performance was therapy to the audience. Who could have a problem after seeing you and hearing your wonderful voice? I laughed and both my director Louis and I had tears in our eyes from laughing so hard. When you had the two gentleman on the stage dancing with you... simply delicious. I know why you are Carol's favorite because you are MAHVELOUS. Love you, Leslie Name: David Gurland Sent: 05/22 2003 04:11 AM Great show on Monday night!!! I laughed my A** off.... So much fun!!!! Especially the audience participation part! xo David Gurland Name: Jean Barlow City: NYC Sent: 05/21 2003 07:56 AM Dearest Richard, You are simply incredible! We have seen your shows almost a dozen times now, and we are entertained and enlightened every single minute of every single time! Your embodiment of Carol is astonishing--every little gesture and twinkle, every little batted eyelash, every little puckered lip is truly captivating, and oh, so, Carol at her most endearing! And...what a VOICE...grabbing both the essence and the energy on every note! This past Monday night (with the super Lennie Watts as your special guest), you were simply TOP of your game!! Thought I'd bust a gut when you did the "Woman Who Arranges Things" number. The bit with the sweet young lady whom you transplanted in the audience was outstanding!! You kept going back to retrieve her stuff from the old locale in the house to the new one, never skipping a beat, staying in awesome character the whole time, with a house roaring its approval every step of the way! You are magnificent! I say all of this about your talent, while not for a moment forgetting what a wonderful and generous human being you are (thank you for keeping "Swing" so fresh and alive each and every performance!!). Kudos to you, Richard! Looking forward to more lovely times at your shows. You're the best! I can freely urge EVERYone to see you do your thang. It's a wonderful and delightful surprise, each and every performance. This show should be in a Broadway house, SRO every night! Fondest regards, Jean B. Name: Sue Matsuki Homepage: http://www.SueMatsuki.com City: Brooklyn, NY Sent: 05/21 2003 07:19 AM YOU WERE BRILLIANT MONDAY NIGHT - a GLOWING diamond - as you ALWAYS are. You never cease to amazing me and EVERY standing O you get is deserved. In NY where we just don't do them in Cabaret...it's just more about not physically being able to stand but I was in my heart. I watch you. I learn. I marvel. You keep Carol fresh, timely and funny and I see news things every time I watch you. BRAVA/BRAVO. Danny could NOT have been cuter up there too. Mychelle and I were like, "He is the cutest man on earth!" And now an open letter to those of you who haven't seen his show!?!?! You've never seen him do a whole show? How fun! He's truly amazing, isn't he? You totally loose that he's not actually "Carol" sometimes. I do these guest spots with him all the time and what I love to see is how he takes a staunch "Republican" crowd i.e., a crowd ya wouldn't think would be very receptive to a 6' tall man in a dress and within 5 minutes has them eating out of this hand. I've seen VERY straight men do the dance bit with him and kiss his hand or cheek on leaving the stage. Richard is a wonder in this regard and a performer to study. He's incredible quick on his heels with extremely intelligent come backs. He just cracks me up every time and I've seen him many times. It's always different. Come back again. I'm doing it with him on June 16th. I promise that you will not see the same show. Love, Sue Name: Brent Winborn Homepage: http://www.brentwinborn.com City: New York, NY Sent: 05/15 2003 03:48 AM Richard, your show at The Duplex was so smart and funny. You are Carol Channing!! I think you know more about her than she does herself. Name: Joe Regan City: New York Sent: 05/14 2003 06:35 PM Richard your show was so terrific Monday at the Duplex. The new stuff is great and I can't get out of how sharp and clever you are in the audience participation parts. Better and better and loving and wonderful. Name: Katrina Banks Sent: 05/09 2003 05:46 AM Hello Carol. Lovely weather report today. You looked lovely & everyone was having a good time.
