Name: Ray & Bill City: Provincetown,Ma. 02657 Sent: 05/22 2002 02:53 PM Hi Richard... Sat.night May 18th at the Crown & Anchor was an evening we won't forget...Fantastic...it was and then some..it was great to see Carol Channing again...having seen her many many times over the years...she is a star of the highest quality... Our very best LHK Ray & Bill Name: Andrew Altman Homepage: http://www.andrewaltman.com City: Boston, MA Sent: 05/22 2002 12:14 PM Richard, that was an amazing show you did at CabaretFest in Provincetown. I really felt like I was spending time with Carol Channing. Your singing and mannerisms were incredible, and I also loved the intereaction with the audience. Well done! Name: John Amodeo City: Boston, MA Sent: 05/21 2002 11:06 AM Skipper captures the pure effervescent essence of Carol Channing in her prime for an audience that may not have had a chance to see Ms. Channing perform live. Using his own considerable vocal skills, Skipper nails every spoken and sung inflection of Channing's, along with the look, body language and personality, for a fully developed illusion. While completely reverent toward his object of illusion, Skipper's Channing is delightfully irreverent with the audience, mingling with audience, calling on them with questions, learning their names, staying in touch with each and every one of them, by name, throughout the show, and occasionally tossing harmless "gems" their way without putting anyone in discomfort. Skipper's Channing is a delight to spend a few hours with, just as the real Ms. Channing has always been, and after a few songs, one is hard pressed to tell the difference. The Provincetown crowd I sat among just adored this show, and the cheers were well-earned. Name: Joan Dobrin City: Buffalo, NY Sent: 05/21 2002 05:00 AM You are so so talented Richard! May you continually receive standing ovations at every performance you do. You deserve every single one of them. Keep people smiling and loving your character- it's the best there is! Name: Tom Domenici Sent: 05/16 2002 07:58 AM Hey Richard, Just wanted to say thank you again for Monday for being emcee and star of our fundraiser for the Actors'Theatre of Washington. I truly appreciate not only what you did, but of course, how! Truly a great talent and a class act! I'll be in NYC all next week for the League Conference and hope to see you then. Again, a million thanks! Tom PS Word of mouth has been incredible and will forward anything that appears in the local press and Trades here in D.C! Name: Bob Cormier City: Manchester, NH Sent: 05/13 2002 05:21 AM Richard -- My partner & I were elated to have enjoyed your show as the centerpiece of our tenth anniversary together. Fate couldn't have been kinder to us! Greg, being a bit younger than me (don't dare repeat it...), had never seen a "real" female impersonator -- only boys who dress like girls and lip-sync. He was so impressed that we've talked about you for days, and now we're wearing out my seldom-used Original Cast Recording of Hello, Dolly! -- something I had laid to rest when I started dating this boy of 22, who had never heard of Carol Channing, much less grown to love her! Thanks so much for restoring dignity to the profession of female impersonation. Not since before AIDS came along and swept away so many truly talented performers has a live show left me so excited! We can't make the Washington show, but only because of proximity. I can't wait for you to play in the Boston area. Thanks again for making a special anniversary even more special. Bob Cormier Name: Tara McGee City: Manchester, New Hampshire Sent: 05/10 2002 01:25 AM Your show at C.R. Sparks for the Palace Theatre Fundraiser was so much fun! You're fabulous. Thank you for a memorable evening. T. Name: Donna M. Herb City: Flemington, NJ Sent: 05/09 2002 01:33 PM Richard, As Chairman of the Board for "Voices For Charity," I just want to take a few moments to thank you for your outreach and support of our 1st annual "An Evening of New York Cabaret" held at the Hunterdon Hills Playhouse on April 21, 2002. You were absolutely outstanding and did so much to set a warm and relaxed atmosphere for all of our guests. We had at least 160 attendees, which was a wonderful response to our first gala event. Your performance as "Carol Channing" is a marvelous act and you masterfully orchestrated the Cabaret evening with grace, wit and charm. Your smooth transitions from one performer to the next and witty repartee in between was nothing less than spectacular. Several guests approached us at the end of the evening and said they couldn't wait until next year. We are all looking forward to your encore with us in 2003. I highly recommend your show to anyone who is considering a fabulous event! Once again, on behalf of "Voices For Charity," and all the benefiting charities we support, thank you from the bottom of our hearts for making our evening a huge success. We plan on putting a notice about your show on our web site: www.voicesforcharity.org and providing a link to your website here. Sincerely, Donna M. If you ever get a chance to see him in person, do not miss the opportunity.
