Richard Skipper is one of the most engaging personalities in showbiz, but better yet, he is supremely gifted as an actor. I can say this with absolute certainty because of my first-hand experiences with him; I have served in both roles as audience member and accompanist. He recently did a show in Fort Myers, Florida (January 29, 2005) where I played the piano for him. His professional ethics and affable character made for a winning combination. The event, needless to say, was a huge success. Richard proved himself again to be a consummate artist and entertainer. The reason why he is so good is because of his natural ability and high intellect. I would call him an actor's actor because he continually studies and refines his craft. I look forward to doing more performances with him. HATS OFF TO YOU, Richard!!!!!.

Richard, you are the greatest! If only Ed Sullivan's show was still on the air, you would get top billing. Richard Skipper really wowed them in Washington, D.C., on January 31. His rapport with the audience was uncanny and a few of those sitting close to me seemed to believe that he was really Carol Channing. He has her voice and mannerisms down to a T, but it is mostly her warmth that he projects thorough his own warmth. You just want to go up and hug him.

You are DYNAMIC! Just saw both shows at The National Theatre and was completely blown away by your talent, your artistry, and your charisma. Performance was fun, fabulous, flawless! What you clearly possess is Star Quality and I felt privileged to be part of that audience. Thank you so much!

You are a natural for Carol Channing. Thoroughly enjoyed the show(love the costume, the voice and the songs). I applaud your diction, stage presence and ability to connect with an audience. Thank you for an enjoyable evening. Wish you all the best.

We sing the praises of Richard Skipper A day as holy as Yom Kipper, For Richard's good... at doing good deeds, And sensitive to all our needs. Connects us all to one another, A friend concerned just like a brother. He's down to earth, not too eccentric.... His Carol Channing's quite authentic! He brims with love and lots of humor, And not the type to spread a rumor. Gets involved with all good causes, A schedule frantic, with no pauses! We met in Vegas......He was Carol, Dressed in stunning Red apparel. At my table he was sitting, Perfect manners, always fitting. So polite and quite demure, But very friendly, that's for sure. Richard, dear, I send regrets, You're as good as it ever gets. For in this business we call show, Some are for themselves, you know But Richard's motto is to give, Richard, Dear, long may you live! Love, Sharon Daniels.......AKA Joan Rivers, Fran Drescher, Katharine Hepburn, Mary Tyler Moore, Dr. Ruth, Barbra Striesand, etc......and whomever else you doggone please. We ALL send our love!!! Wish I could be part of the New York Celebration! I'm proud of you! See you in Vegas. Call me if you get to South Florida.

Richard, Now that things are finally settling down, I can take the amount of time I wanted to write to you. Long after you left, people were talking about your performance. John always has a "gathering feedback" meeting at the close of the event, and all comments about you and your performance were wonderfully positive. We were very lucky to have been able to book someone as talented as you, and your willingness to spend time at the gathering as "Richard" both before and after your "Carol" performance made it all the more wonderful for those of us who realize how talented you are. I was in awe as I watched you on stage, and even more in awe when I discovered that you did not have the baggage that sometimes accompanies talent such as yours. Getting to know you in the limited way that I did, and getting to know your background and some of your history, made me even more aware of how much talent you have, and how hard you have worked to achieve what you have. In a nutshell, I must apologize for the amount of time it has taken me to e-mail you, and hope that you will understand that I really wanted to make sure I sent more than just a "Hi, how are you" message. I feel lucky to have seen your performance, and am very happy that I was able to build the limited friendship that we have. Please keep me informed if your plans ever include San Diego. Hugs, Jeff

Christmas with Carol Channing & Friends was an incredibly enjoyable and diverse show. Richard as Carol at Don't Tell Mama this past Monday brought us back to a wonderfully warm period of Hello Dolly including Carol with quite a number of fantastic costume changes. Her exceptional repertoire plus her outstanding Musical Director, John Bowen led into a beautiful blend of talent including Dottie Burman and Sue Matsuki with many others. And thank you Richard for your incredible support to the IGCITA Scholarship Fund. You are truly a beautiful person. A very Merry Christmas & Happy New Year to you and everyone around you! Love, Rich

I'm far too young to have received the full impact of Carol Channing, but you sound absolutely marvelous. I'm just a 15 year old girl in Texas, pushing for equal rights no matter WHERE we are. :) I loved hearing you on Frank DeCaro's show on OutQ! You guys are wonderful!

All my life, I have adored Carol Channing. Even when I was just a little homosexual, my ears were pressed to the stereo speakers....enjoying and beaming to every track on the original Hello Dolly! broadway recording. I have tracked everything she has ever done.....and love all of it. Even have her Jazz Baby! CD!. Ive seen Hello Dolly! once in San Francisco in 1984, then again for the revival in San Diego in 1994. I got to meet her at a book signing here in San Diego 2 years ago. Actually got to chat with her and have a pic taken with the great lady on that night! Thank you Richard for keeping her spirit and genuiune love for live going! And educating others who may not know who she is. Gotta love Carol!~

You were fabulous as Carol Channing. Your sense of timing, grace and humor involving your audience were flawless. My only regret was that the performance ended too soon.

Richard,It was such a pleasure to see you emcee for the Coalition's annual banquet. My family and friends simply raved about you. Over the years, I've seen you perform at many venues both large and small, covering all demographics, and I look forward to enjoying your incredible talent, a talent that adjusts to every audience and one that always makes people laugh, smile and feel better than did before they saw you perform. Bravo!

You are an absolutely amazing performer! During the past year you have performed at two events that I have been involved with and you have been wonderful. At the most recent event, the crowd responded to your performance in such a heartfelt manner, even calling you back out to say thank you! I look forward to seeing your show again!

Richard is wonderful and incredibly generous! He's more like the Carol Channing you'll remember than Carol Channing is now. You'll thoroughly enjoy his good natured review!
