Absolutely amazing - not because he is able to impersonate her so well, but because he is a glowing human being - full of talent, quick wit, intelligence, compassion and the all saving grace, humor. Name: Leslie Orofino Homepage: http://www.leslieorofino.com City: Westport, CT. Sent: 09/23 2004 11:03 PM On Monday Sept.13th,I had the pleasure of seeing my friend, Richard Skipper as Carol Channing at the lovely Mama Roses. Francesca Blumenthal sat next to me during Richard's stellar performance. Five minutes into his show Francesca whispered ,"There should be hundreds of people here!" Richard was never better with his marvelous interactive way with the audience...one gentleman actually got up on the stage and played Chopin. Congratulations Richard, as always you were the consumate performer. Name: Rich City: Queens, NY Sent: 09/14 2004 11:18 PM Richard, Carol's performance at Mama Rose last night was magnificent. Her flair for the innovative touch was suberb-integrating song, dance & beautifully sensitive stories of her show biz career. Richard-thanks so much for your kind intoduction of my friend Rose & for allowing Barry to play Chopin. You are truly all-inclusive and a consummate player in all aspects of your repertoire. It was also wonderful to meet so many of your contemporaries & wonderful performers including Dody Goodman. It was wonderful to see her. Wishing you much continued success in all of your performances & your support to the community. Best regards. Name: RONALD HUMMEL Homepage: http://pacificprints@sbcglobal.net City: San Francisco, Ca. Sent: 09/03 2004 03:05 PM Richard is a consummate performer who not only sounds like Carol Channing but gives you the total illusion both in looks and movements. This an act you should not miss. He performed for us at the San Francisco Fairmont Hotel at a lavish 100th Birthday party of about 300 guests, many of which are very conservative, and brought the house down. He brought everyone to their feet in a standing ovation. I say "Bravo, Richard." Name: Rossana Holmes Homepage: http://www.patsy.nu/rossana.html City: Burlington, Ontario, Canada Sent: 09/01 2004 04:45 AM Hi Richard - my father still reckons that you are really Carol pretending to be Richard just to keep us wondering !!! I still think it is wrong that you can look better in a dress than I do ! next time we meet I need tips to look that good ! I can't say that you were better than last year, as you are always at your best - (do you ever make mistakes ?) your professionalism/act/stage presense/is something we can all hope that we will reach one day - but somehow you are a hard act to follow !!! love ya Name: Alex Curvello Homepage: http://www.alexasprince.com/ City: NYC Sent: 09/01 2004 03:53 AM My name is Alex Curvello a Professional "Prince" Impersonator and I am signing this guest bookl to let you know that I think you look really great as Carol Channing !! Great Job !!! Take Care Sincerely yours, Alex Curvello - Prince Name: Pam Rimer City: Charlotte, NC Sent: 09/01 2004 01:35 AM Richard, To simply say "Thank You" for all that you do does not seem nearly sufficient. During the recent IGCITA (International Guild of Celebrity Impersonators and Tribute Artists) Convention held in Las Vegas, you proved (not that you needed to) that you are a true professional and friend to the Impersonator Industry. You gave of yourself, your time and your talents unselfishly. The IGCITA Board of Directors is so very fortunate to have your insight and input. You are always able to peek "outside the box" and find new and exciting ways for the Guild to grow and contribute to the industry and you do so in such a pleasant and professional manner. Your performance as Carol Channing is astonishing and it's no doubt that you and Carol work well together. I'm sure she is flattered by your loving tribute to her. She is a class act and so are you. During the showcase in which you served as Emcee showed me just how "on your mark" you really are. I'll never forget the moment when one of the performers entrance was delayed by technical difficulties. You walked calmly on-stage and seamlessly began part of your stand-up routine and continued to do so until the problem was corrected and then introduced the next act. Not one person in the audience ever knew that you were covering for a problem. I only knew because I was positioned beside Linda Collins (showcase producer) in the back of the room. Believe me, that could have been a train wreck were it not for your quick thinking and ability to work under pressure. If anyone is reading this message in contemplation of hiring Richard for an upcoming show or event, think no longer. Just act on it immediately. It will be the best move you will make. Richard is a consumate professional, exceedingly kind and a pleasure to work with...not to mention, he will make you look like a hero to your client. If you are reading this in contemplation of attending one of his shows, just go ahead and buy a ticket. It will not be the last ticket you will purchase as Richard's performances become addictive and you will want more and more. Thank you, Richard, for all that you do and all that you bring to the integrity and professionalism of our industry. You are TOPS and I love 'ya more than you know.
