Name: Joan Jaffe City: New York City Sent: 08/18 2004 04:44 AM Thank you, thank you, thank you for your fabulous performance in THE JOAN & HAL SHOW at the Friars Club last night! The audience was thrilled with your portrayal of Carol Channing. You are truly a consummate performer and I'm so glad you were a part of my show. Name: Amy Heart City: Des Moines, Iowa Sent: 08/16 2004 08:53 PM Richard! What a show!... You were the best! Your performance of Richard Skipper impersonating Carol Channing was simply incredible! I can't stop clapping and praising your act at the annual International Guild of Celebrity Impersonators and Tribute Artists in Las Vegas, Nevada in August 2004. The real Carol Channing is well blessed that you have chosen to pay tribute to her talents as an entertainer and performer. Your dedication to making your performance totally "Carol" is praise worthy and honors Ms. Channing for being the legendary performer that she has become. As an impersonator myself, I know and can appreciate all the hard work and effort you put into transforming yourself into Ms. Channing's character. Your show was a delight to witness. It was inspirational for all celebrity impersonators to see how you have dedicated your efforts into becoming the celebrity you have chosen to honor with your impersonations. I can tell from the real Carol Channing's look of approval in your photo gallery that she feels truly honored and praised by your showmanship. I hope to be privileged to see you perform as Carol Channing once again. On a scale from 1 to 10, Richard Skipper as Carol Channing is a true 10 spot! I encourage everyone who can see one of your shows to make sure that they don't miss out on this truly unique a valuable experience. Good fortune in your future show dates in your portrayal as Carol Channing. Amy Heart as Marilyn Monroe Name: Paul Pedrazas City: San Francisco Sent: 08/15 2004 06:21 AM I saw your performance at the San Francisco Breakfast Club last weekend and it was my second time attending one of Carol's wonderfully funny and charming appearances. I laughed from my heart, and was thoroughly engaged in Carol's interaction with the audience. Carol, (Richard), swept into the room with smiles and music and swept all 600 of us up in laughter, charm, song and warmth. "Your doing swell Dolly"... Name: Mugu Fred City: New York, USA Sent: 08/14 2004 03:53 AM Excellent indeed. Keep up the good work. Name: Tina Skipper City: Conway, South Carolina Sent: 08/13 2004 06:01 PM Richard, it was great to meet you in Vegas. You are a wonderful Carol Channing! I hope you don't mind that I have bragged that I am possibly distantly related to you. I am so proud of you and your work. I hope to see you on stage next year in Conway!!!!! Tina Name: Wanda Fulwood City: CONWAY, SC Sent: 08/13 2004 12:41 PM An Evening with Carol Channing was absolutely unbelieveable! I thoroughly enjoyed every last minute of it, and I SO hope he brings it back! He was fabulous, and I'm sure he made tons of new fans for Carol Channing as well as for Richard Skipper! We all knew he was talented, but now everybody else is finding out! I would just love to see him and get to chat, but one thing I wanted to ask is if he has considered having a large show in MB at any time. I have already told so many people about how fabulous his show was, and I'll just bet he could fill the Palace with the word-of-mouth publicity that'll be generated from the Saturday night show, plus any adtertising that's done. I saw very little advertising about the TOR show. Of course, I'm sure many other folks have thought about this, but I hope everyone tells him so he'll know how much support he has here. I think it truly speaks volumes about Richard's character that he is so warm and friendly to the small town where so many folks were not always nice to him when he was young and ambitious. I have a warm spot in my heart for him and the entertainment he provided. Because of him, I developed a special affection for The Wizard of Oz, which I've passed on to my grandson, Bryson. Richard would be so pleased if he could see how enthralled this little 2‡-year old is when he's watching it, and to think that he helped make that happen! Small world, huh?!? Anyway, will you please pass this message on to Richard and tell him how very much I enjoyed the show and seeing him again. I am so proud to know him and so happy that I was able to see the show Saturday night. Thanks so much. Wanda Name: Bea Fogelman Homepage: http://TributeArtistry@yahoogroups.com City: Las Vegas Sent: 08/12 2004 03:20 PM I just don't get it, Richard... You are in New York so why are you not in a Broadway Show?? Sherie Rae (Bette Midler, Janis Joplin, Phyllis Diller... LEGENDS IN CONCERT) would love to audition for Broadway ... but if you are not a star on a Broadway stage, how in the world does anyone else make it? You are a Master technician of what works in drama and of comedy and your ad-lib sequence while everything was going wrong with the equipment was absolutely brilliant!!! You are an ultimate artist and, if I were a producer of a Broadway play or musical, you would be the STAR. Their loss... Bea The Entertainment Network Name: Fil Jessee Homepage: http://filslookalikes.com City: Atlanta, Georgia Sent: 08/12 2004 06:20 AM I hope you readers enjoy fireworks, because you're about to bear witness to an explosion of kudos for Richard Skipper, the man, as well as for Richard as the legendary Carol Channing. I'm sure many who were present at the recent IGCITA World Convention of Famous Reflections at The Stardust, Las Vegas would agree that Richard pumped more energy into this convention's shows than the Las Vegas Power Company. His uniquely interactive solo and emcee performances there were simply sensational, and truly befitting a world class convention of this caliber. But those of us who worked behind the scenes to plan and stage this three-day event know that Richard's heart is even bigger than the star on his dressing room. A true professional as well as an exemplary citizen of the celebrity impersonation & tribute arts community, Richard truly cares about his fellow performers, producers, and technical staff. And I don't mean he's just courteous and polite to them. When something goes wrong, Richard is often the first person to jump in and help to fix things, while others merely stand in the wings and complain. In a flamboyant world of egos, selfishness, and professional jealousy, Richard is a man who thinks with his heart, and it shows both on and off the stage. The International Guild of Celerity Impersonators & Tribute Artists(IGCITA)is exceedingly proud of the fact that Richard serves on on the Board of Directors, for no other performing artist is more proactive or more befitting the Guild's slogan, "the world's standard of excellence in famous reflections." Any event in which Richard Skipper's tribute to Carol Channing is featured cannot fail to enjoy similar acclaim. Name: Gregory Thompson Homepage: http://www.sunburstconvention.com City: Orlando, FL Sent: 08/12 2004 04:40 AM What a true professional. Richard walked on stage in Vegas and took control of the room. I could have watched him all night. Carol Channing should be proud to have someone so in tune paying tribute to her. And he has total respect for her. If you want a truly professional show, call Richard Skipper. It will be a magical evening enjoyed by all ages. I give Richard a 10 Diamond Revue on his performance...one for each finger! Name: Janet Valentine Homepage: http://www.tributetomarilyn.com City: Las Vegas Sent: 08/11 2004 07:24 PM Richard, you are an inspiration for all of us impersonators. If anyone here hasn't seen Richard as Carol, you won't believe your eyes and ears! Richard nails Carol's character so well, and so delightfully...I am truly inspired to be as good a Marilyn Monroe as he is a Carol...Diamonds, and Richard...are a girls best friend! xo & smooches all over!
