Richard, You are an amazing performer and a truly kind human being! Thank you for the wonderful interaction you had with my high school students and your lovely singing voice. I have seen a lot of drag queens and female impersonators in my time and you are neither! What I saw was a world class performance and I can't wait to see you again!!!! I had a terrific time attending the benefit that "Carol" hosted at Dillons. What was especially impressive was how "Carol" kept the show flowing, not just introducing guest performers (including the great Karen Mason, Leila Martin, Jana Robbins, etc.), but delightfully interacted with them. It was like a top-drawer Carol Burnett show with Carol Channing filling in. Congratulations.

Taken from our "Galaxy News" publication of June 2004: "Richard Skipper as Carol Channing was a total hit and had us all laughing hysterically. I couldn't believe that I heard people saying that this "she" couldn't really be a "he". Richard had a wonderful repartee with the audience and focused on our neighborhood and our neighbors as he paired off individuals in the audience with other partners and gave out roses and jewels and just had fun. We didn't want the party to end. You will have to see all the fun on our in-house cable channel 26. We have a video of the night and can send you a copy, if you wish.

Richard, Richard! Perhaps because I was so intimately connected to the formation of this event I was able to see the tremendous talent it takes to do what you do. I don't mean Carol. I know that takes talent. I'm talking about the talent to hold a show together - to keep an evening moving. I can't estimate what your services for this type of benifit are worth. You're worth a fortune. I'm blown away by what you do and how you managed the evening. I'm so proud that your my friend. Thank you with love, Bobbie

Last night I had the extreme pleasure of working with Richard again as a guest in his show. He's always amazing! Aside from his talent, he is so terrific with the audience. I love his interaction with them and the way they respond to him. His likability quotient is off the scale! People are charmed and pleased by him. I was lucky enough to be seated in the audience before I came up to do my numbers, so that I could participate in the same enjoyment as the rest of the audience. Richard...you are great! Richard, you are such a talented young man with even more wonderful things in store for you. I feel that you are one of the best Carol Channings that I have ever had the pleasure of watching. I hope that we may one day meet for a cup of coffee and a quick bite. May The Lord bestow many blessings upon you throughout your life. My daughter, Honey, will be coming with me on my next visit to Manhattan. I'll check the website and see if you perhaps have a show that weekend or not. It'd be really lovely to catch you again. Best to you in the future - Fascinating things await you! You are delightful. Gussie Nell Sweetwater, TX

Just a note to congratulate you on a superb perfrormance for the AIDS Benefit Committee of New Jersey, at the New Jersey Performing Arts Center. Your quick wit, interaction with the audience (and your inherent kindness as part of it) plus your singing -- all were terrific. (And someone behind us said, "great legs too!" ) This was the first time we saw you before complete strangers who are not part of the customary cabaret-wise community -- and you were truly a hit. Great job! Peter Haas -- Cabaret writer

Dear Richard, Thank you and Richard Siegel ,your Musical Director, for coming to entertain 60 of our volunteers at People To People's Volunteer Recognition Luncheon on the 29th of April. Your appearance was billed as a "secret guest" on our program. Our guests were not only surprised but thrilled to meet the beautiful and talented Carol Channing. Miss Channing called me and said "Dolores, she always calls me Dolores, you need a bright shinning star to entertain your wonderful volunteers. Richard and I are coming to Nyack to perform for them". And perform you did to a very appreciative audience. The show was terrific and enjoyed by all. God bless you and keep on shinning brightly. Dolores Treger

Hi Richard, it is so nice of you to welcome me to the group. I visited your website and I am very impressed with your resume as well as your uncanny resemblance to the fabulous Carol Channing. It is quiet obvious that you are on the top rung of your field and you should be extremely proud of what you have been able to accomplish in a very competive industry. My experience with Ms. Channing was simply delightful. I had the opportunity to open for her at the ASU Sundome here in Sun City West, Arizona. There was close to 3000 people in the house and I remember being just a little bit nervous. She was so gracious back stage and she made me feel so relaxed when she welcomed me before my performance. Afterwards she took the time to chat and take several pictures with me and my family, one of which is posted on my web site in my photo-gallery. That performance was my first major gig working with a star of her magnitude and I will always remember her and that evening fondly for the rest of my life. I received a standing ovation that evening and when she came on for her portion she made a big fuss about me to the audience and put me on cloud nine. I truly believe that my performance was extra special because of the way she made me feel so relaxed and that I belonged on that stage with her. She is truly showbiz royalty and a very, very classy lady. Once again I appreciate your thoughts and wish you all the success that you so richly deserve. Best Wishes, Monte www.monteprocopio.com

Saw Carol in the Theater Resurces Unlimited benefit last night - a hoot of an evening called "The War of the Mama Roses". It was hilarious watching Carol constantly confusing Gypsy with Hello, Dolly! but remaining her charming, smiling self throughout this supposed audition for the role of Mama Rose. Carol was wonderful in a trio with Catye Thorpe's Ethel Merman and Janet Fanale's Patti Lupone. As always, Carol shined like a diamond, but this time she was surrounded by other gems: Steven Brinberg's Barbra, Rick Skye's Liza, the gorgeous Quinn Lemley as Rita Hayworth (plus the aforementioned Ethel and Patti). Any chance they'll do this show again?

Just a quick note to alert everyone that if you think "Diamond's Are A Girl's Best Friend" than clearly you do not know Richard Skipper. This man is always on the ready to help out whenever needed and in fact has gone out of his way to share his abundant talents with all of us at Broadway Cares on numerous occasions. Truly one of our best friends, we thank you Richard from the bottom of our hearts for all of your guest appearances. Our audiences love you and you help us prove that what we do together really does make a difference and we could not make that difference without you!

An Open Letter To Booking Agents: I want to mention a performer I have been working with lately. His name is Richard Skipper, and he does "An Evening With Carol Channing". You may be tempted to assume that, as a female impersonator, he is a drag queen that belongs in some little boite downtown. Not at all! He is really a terrific entertainer, does a perfect "Carol", is in fact the impersonator that Carol herself likes best. He's a great singer, and his show is very funny and very entertaining. I'm mentioning him because in situations where you may be looking for something new and different to bring to an event to give the guests an experience they'll enjoy and remember, Richard's show is an option you'll want to consider. Thanks, -Rich
