"She has told reporters that "[this is] the first time EVER I have been shown with such love, respect and polish. Richard Skipper is a true musical comedy star" And they have shared the stage several times!

"CAROL CHANNING IN CONCERT...STARRING RICHARD SKIPPER!" is a fully staged and researched, musical montage celebrating the career and persona of this unique, theatrical legend. Blending Channing standards with original material and other familiar songs sung by Skipper in his powerful Broadway voice, the musical evening surveys Channing's life with many stops along the way for Skipper's unique--and riotous--"ad-lib" interactions with the audience. Mr. Skipper is a four time recipient of the MAC (Manhattan Association of Cabaret) Award a Back Stage Bistro award, and a CLONEY AWARD in Las Vegas for best performer. He was named as one of the Top Ten Cabaret Performers by Cabaret Hotline and as "one of the Top of the Century Premiere Cabaret Acts" by Cabaret Scenes Magazine. Skipper returns to NY after recent engagements at various venues throughout the United States. In each of those venues, he has played to sold-out houses and received outstanding reviews. Said Backstage Magazine: "Skipper sparkles with the glow of Channing's charisma, but the extra shine you see on stage is a product of a diamond-like brilliance that is his alone. [A]n unqualified musical comedy gem...There is no doubt in my mind that Richard Skipper is well on the way to international recognition and acclaim."

Here is your opportunity to experience Channing as you've never seen her before! WHAT THE CRITICS ARE SAYING: "Skipper sparkles with the glow of Channing's charisma, but the extra shine you see on stage is a product of a diamond-like brilliance that is his alone. [A]n unqualified musical comedy gem...[it] could easily transfer from its cabaret setting to an Off-Broadway stage. And it should."
Barbara & Scott Siegel, Back Stage

"There is no doubt in my mind that Richard Skipper is well on the way to international recognition and acclaim."
Dr. Thomas Robert Stevens/Applause, Applause

"Carol has become a fan of Richard Skipper's. He's the bawdy, bigger than life, but brilliant performer who is doing Carol all over the place. "
-- Tommy Garrett, Canyon New

s"[D]on't miss Richard Skipper as Carol Channing...absolutely the best impersonator I've ever seen."
Peter Friedman/SF Radio

"Before the parade passes by, you'd better catch Carol Channing in Concert Starring Richard Skipper, who's well known for ebulliently capturing the sibilant, wide-eyed wonder of one of Broadway's platinum treasures."
-- Michael Musto, La Daily Must

"To judge from the enthusiastic reaction of the audience, most of whom had obviously seen some version of this show before, Richard Skipper as Carol Channing is well on his way to becoming a cult figure. In a two-act version of his popular cabaret show, Skipper had the time and space to develop his concept of the legendary musical theater star, who has said of him, "He is FABULOUS AS ME!""
-- Barbara Leavy, Cabaret Scene

s"Skipper... has a voice that undoubtably left many people in the audience disbelieving it was a live show."
Richard Mancino, At The Shore

"His interaction with the audience is also impressive, the characterization never slips, is always funny, and rejoices in excellent timing."
Maya Amis, New York Theatre Wise

"Richard Skipper's impersonation of Channing is one of the wonders of the modern world: every gesture, attitude and ad lib is hilariously right."
New York City Search

WHAT THE AUDIENCES ARE SAYING:

I have been lucky enough to participate in three wonderful Richard Skipper EVENTS and the experience gets better and better every time. Richard is a wonderful entertainer, incredible talent, with sophisticated audiences at each show. Even if you do not usually go to live theatre this should be at the top of your list of MUST DOs in NYC! THE MAC AWARDS WELL DESERVED MY FRIENDS.

Barbara I hadn't seen a full Richard Skipper show in years. Forgot how much FUN they are and how dead on Richard's Carol Channing is...His love of her is apparent…Don't let this show get away from you!!!!!!!!!! It was a joy to be at Richard Skipper's wonderful show last. I have been watching cabaret shows for over fifty years, and last night's was one of the best I've ever seen in my entire life. Living now in Fort Lauderdale for the past 8 years, I'm rather cut off from the new York cabaret scene I've always loved. So, last night was an extraordinary opportunity to catch up with a wonderful show -- which I have been reading about on the Internet but now finally had the opportunity to see. The show was great -- not a clunker in the carload of incredible songs and anecdotes. Richard kept the evening flowing smoothly and seamlessly -- moving swiftly from one terrific song to another. I plan to be back at Richard's show on July 27th !

Bravo Richard!! Last night my Mom and I had the pleasure of seeing you in your new show at Helen's. We had such fun. What a band and backup singers. Wow!!! Also, my dear Richard you never looked more beautiful and your singing was lovely. I know why Carol Channing says you are her favorite. You become Carol at her very best. Love, Leslie Orofino

Richard, thank you for your superb new show as Carol Channing. Next stop, Off-B'way! everyone performing and watching was so enthusiastic and in love with the material. Kudos for all you did to make this event possible. Love, Liz & Stu Hodes

I look forward to Richard's shows where I know I will be entertained in style and comfort. Richard is not only an exceptional talent, but is also an exceedingly humorous and warm and gracious host(ess). I enjoy spreading the word to my friends who are now part of our expanding group at Richard’s shows.

It was great to be back at Richard Skipper's show and see the multiple-award winner, continue with non-stop entertainment and great talent. Richard, your tribute to Carol Channing is simply stunning. Thanks for that, and as usual, thanks to you for a lovely evening where the lyrics of a song can actually be heard and appreciated!

You are truly amazing! I really do have to remind myself that I'm not watching Carol. It is a wonderful show. I really loved it! You are an inspiration. I haven't had such an enjoyable evening in ages! Richard Skipper's show is glorious. Not to mention the spectacular Carol herself - I cannot tell you how many times I had to remind myself I wasn't watching Miss Channing herself - the illusion is so complete. Richard is magnificent! Do yourselves a favor - GO! Stephanie Cheek

RICHARD SKIPPER ON CAROL

While physical mimicry, facial expressions, costume and make-up as well as matching the unique singing and speaking voices of this legend is essential to my impression, I believe the genuine respect and affection I have for my subject is the most important element in my performance.
I make each and every show unique for the audience with the spontaneity and interaction that are a featured part of each act. My illusion continues with the house lights up as "Carol" brings patrons onstage or engages in improvised banter.
And, while no "Carol" show could overlook "Hello, Dolly" or "Diamonds Are a Girl's Best Friend," my shows are not limited to her greatest hits' song lists. I feature original material and arrangements of numbers never performed or recorded by Miss Channing.
