"Friday night at The Egg (Albany, NY) Richard Skipper proved himself an even better Carol than Carol. Skipper put the focus on comedy as much as cabaret and throughout the evening picked on audience members for a little onstage participation. [ And, like any great comic, he kept turning the material back over on itself--recycling first-set jokes into second act fodder.] What about the songs? Again, Skipper scored high points [bringing] a real dignity to 'It Only Takes a Moment,' 'I Put My Hand In There' and 'Before the Parade Passes By.' [And hey, he looked fetching in that red dress too.]"
